Career Advantage is an online database, run through MonsterTRAK, that connects students and alumni through intentional career development opportunities. Currently, alumni and friends of Pepperdine are creating profiles that will be searchable by students. Once the program is launched (early 2007), students will be able to search the database and request contact with a willing alumni/friend of Pepperdine volunteer. There are a number of different programs within Career Advantage that students can participate in that involve various levels of contact; whether face-to-face, through email, or by phone.
We've found that there are hundreds of alumni out there looking for a way to "give back" to Pepperdine and share their "real world" experience with students. Needless to say, there are certainly hundreds of students eager to learn from our alumni and take advantage of the powerful Pepperdine network.
One way to take advantage of the Pepperdine network is through the Take a Wave to Lunch program. This program connects students with alumni and friends of Pepperdine University with the intention of creating a business meeting over a meal to discuss the student’s career of interest. We are really excited about this program and the opportunity it provides students to engage alumni, while developing their career interests.
