This is the true
story of Pepperdine Universitys PRSSA chapter chosen to host the next
regional conference to find out what happens when you graduate from
college
and start getting real.
Scheduled for April 5-6, 2003, The Real World: Southern California PR conference will offer a variety of informational sessions on many different career prospects available to public relations students including Sports, Entertainment, Global and Multicultural Public Relations, Crisis Communications, Event Planning and Integrated Marketing Communications.
A personal development seminar will focus on creating a Real World Survival Kit, which would include letterhead, resumes, portfolios, business cards, interviewing tips and professional etiquette. This may be something that is not ordinarily taught in a classroom, but may be vital in a successful job hunt for recent college graduates.
Invited speakers include industry professionals from organizations like Disney, Jaguar, Quiksilver, Durazo Communications, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and more. More than 20 local PRSSA chapters as well as Los Angeles area young professionals have been invited to attend.
